You Might Be Reading Your Horoscope Wrong...

If you're like me until about 6 years ago, you're probably checking the local paper or your favorite online astrologist for your horoscope - making sure you check for the sign of the sun you were born under. These can totally still resonate on some levels because our natal sun sign definitely has affects on us throughout our life, but if you want to get a whole lot more accurate you'll have to check for your rising sign, and here's why.

Your horoscope is made of the analyses of the transits and aspects in the corresponding houses of your chart - and how astrologists pull these charts is by switching which sign is in the first house to orient the chart around that energy. This means that to match the houses in your birth chart you will have to line them up with your own Ascendant, which is the sign in the first house of your birth chart, and represents how you present yourself to the world.

This is why Ascendants exist! If you have a rising Taurus, there could be a tame conjunction happening in Libra - it would be in your 6th house of daily life routines, but if you are reading for your sun sign Pisces, your horoscope is focused on the house of loss and shared finances, perhaps stirring up unnecessary drama and causing you stress.
